Max Roberts
Funeral Director/Embalmer
Max Roberts has been working for Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home since July 1980.
He is a 1974 graduate of Heavener High School, attended Carl Albert State College, and graduated from Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science with a degree in Funeral Science in 1977.
Max has 1 son, Dylan, who is his partner in the daily operations of the funeral home; a daughter-in-law, Kaci; 4 grandchildren: Kynlee and Kason Roberts, and Brody and Adrian Cheshier.
He is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association and the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association.
He is a member and past President of the Heavener Lions Club and the Heavener Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Choctaw Country Club, where he spends his spare time playing golf with his buddies.
Max was named Heavener Citizen of the Year by the Heavener Chamber of Commerce in 2016. He was also named the Heavener Wolves Fan of the Year by Heavener Public Schools in 2016.
Max retired in 2005 from the Heavener Fire Department as Fire Chief, after 25 years of service.
He is a very active supporter in all community and school events and has served as a member of the press box crew during home football games for over 20 years.

Dylan married Kaci Roberts, a PreK teacher at Hodgen School, in July 2015. He has 4 children, Kynlee and Kason Roberts and Brody and Adrian Cheshier.
He is the son of Max Roberts. Dylan and his family are members of Heavener First Baptist Church.
Dylan began working for Dowden Funeral Home in 1998 while still attending High School. He graduated from Heavener High School in 2000 and began attending Carl Albert State College, where he received an Associate of Science in Biological Science/Zoology in 2002. Upon leaving CASC, he began taking classes at the University of Central Oklahoma. He received a Bachelor of Science from UCO in 2004. In 2005, he began working as a funeral director and embalmer in Malvern, AR. He moved to Charleston, AR in 2006 and worked as a funeral director and embalmer there until 2008. From 2008 until 2014, he worked as a funeral director and embalmer for Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, OK. He came back to Dowden Funeral Home in 2014 when he and his father, Max, took over operation of the funeral home and renamed it Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home.
Dylan is an active member of the Heavener community. He's currently a member of Heavener Fire and Rescue, serving as a volunteer fireman. He is also a member of the Heavener School Board of Education. He serves as President of the Heavener Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Heavener Lions Club.

Janie Davis
Full Time Secretary
Janie has been employed with Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home since August 2015. She is here to serve families during a time of great need.

She received her Associate's degree from Carl Albert State College and then continued her education at Western Governors University, where she received her Bachelor's in Education. She also received her Master's in Education from Walden University. She is an educator for Epic Charter Schools. She has taught in education for over 15 years.
She has been married to Tim for 31 years. They have 3 sons who have all graduated from Heavener High School and two daughters-in-law: Austin, Noad, and wife Kelsie, and Jacob and wife McKenzie. She has three wonderful grandsons: Kampton, Asher, and Denim. They attend Heavener First Baptist Church.
Janie and her family enjoy sporting events and, most of all, spending time together as a family.

Tim has been employed with Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home since November, 2014. He is very compassionate when dealing with families in their time of need. He is a 1991 graduate of Howe High School and a 2005 graduate of Carl Albert State College.
He has been married to Janie for 31 Years. They have 3 sons who have all graduated from Heavner High School and two daughters-in-law: Austin, Noad and wife Kelsie, and Jacob and wife McKenzie. She has three wonderful grandsons: Kampton, Asher, and denim. They attend Heavener First Baptist Church.
He has been employed with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 29 years, where he holds the position as the Resident Manager. He also has 19 years of service with the Heavener Fire Department where he currently serves as the Fire Chief. Tim is very active in the community.
Tim and his family enjoy sports, fishing, and most of all, spending time together as a family.

Steve graduated from Heavener High School as part of the class of 1970. He began working with Dowden Roberts Funeral Home in 2020, providing four years of service to our families.
He and his wife, Susan (Carter) Hembree, have one daughter, Whiteney, and son-in-law Adam.
Steve is active in the community as a member of the Heavener H Club, the Heavener Masonic Lodge #154, as well as the McAlister Scottish Rite and the Bedouin Shrine Temple, and has been attending for 50 Years. He is also a member of the Trinity Baptist church.
Steve served on the Heavener Fire Department from 1975-1995, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service. He is also a retired Case Manager III for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
