William Maurice Pope of Wister, Oklahoma was born February 15, 1939 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Winford and Maurice Adelaide (Ladd) Pope and passed away on November 16, 2024 at his home at the age of 85.
He is survived by:

Rhonda Elder of Poteau, Oklahoma
One son:
Kenneth Pope of Grand Prairie, Texas
Two brothers:
Gary Pope of Knoxville, Tennessee
Fred Trickett of Highland, California
Four grandchildren
Six great-grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Loretta Sue Pope; one son, Jack Pope; two sisters Joann Blankenship and Sandra Teague; and one brother, Lonnie Pope.
William was a long-time resident of the area and was a Field Technician for AOG. He loved spending time with his family and friends. William was a veteran, where he served in the United States Navy during the Peacetime. He will be deeply missed by all whom loved and knew him.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Reverend Shawn Caldwell. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in the Glendale Community under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

William will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
