Virgil Victor Clark of Heavener, Oklahoma was born November 29, 1944 in Yale, Oklahoma to Johnnie Junior and Mildred Ruth (Clemons) Clark. He left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 78.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Ashlee Amanda Marie Clark; his father and mother-in-law, Billy Gene Thompson and Carolyn Marie Coffey; and one sister, Susie Hampton.
Virgil was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for 30 years while helping teach many apprentices. He was a member of Forrester Baptist Church. Virgil loved to deer hunt, shoot guns, eat, and loved all kinds of coffee. He also loved to brush his hair, play a harmonica, and his church. Virgil especially loved spending time with all of his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend. Virgil was a veteran in the United States Navy, where he served his country during the Vietnam era. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Virgil loved all people and never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Forrester Baptist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma with Reverend Mike Steelman, Reverend Michael Clark, and Reverend Joey Bottoms officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday; 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday; 9:00 a.m. until Noon, Thursday. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Warren Watkins, Kyle Kitchens, Joshua Stone, Dillon Clark, Dalton Clark, Tyler Rogers, Dennis Wilhite, Bill Johnson, Alvin Sweeden, Scott Parkhurst, and the men of Forrester Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in honor of Virgil to Gideons International for Bibles or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
