Veachel Aaron Linville of Shady Point, Oklahoma was born October 2, 1931, in Nathan, Arkansas to Earl and Adele (Turner) Linville and passed away December 7, 2019 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of his children, Dixie; three sisters, Norma, Inella and Iva Sue; one younger brother, Rick. Veachel was a Christian and a member of the Pocola Baptist Church. He lived in Arkansas until 1941, when the family moved to Heavener, Oklahoma. Except for a few times when the family moved back to Arkansas briefly, he lived in the Heavener area most of his life. He also lived in Shady Point for the last 30 years. Veachel grew up working with his father in his automobile repair shop, and later had his own automotive repair business in Heavener. He worked on oil pipeline jobs in several states, and worked for a few years for a coal mine in Stigler, keeping the underground equipment operating. He worked for 18 years as an automotive instructor in Jim Hamilton Correctional Center at Hodgen and retired in 1997. After his retirement from the Correctional Center, Veachel worked at Smedleys dealership at Poteau as a service writer. He had a World Class ASE rating, having earned certification in all phases of automotive service, which requires 22 specific ASE certifications. He was also an excellent carpenter, could fix or build virtually anything, and had his fathers ability to figure out a way to make anything work. Veachel loved music and played the guitar, as well as being a good singer. He loved to hunt, fish and ride his motorcycle. He loved to help people whenever he had the opportunity. Veachel will be deeply missed by all whom loved and knew him.
Memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2019 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Spiritual Counselor Susan Minor and Pastor Devon Minor officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma. Interment will be at Memorial Park in Heavener, Oklahoma.
