Rita M. Burns of Poteau, Oklahoma was born on December 26, 1937 in Eindhoven, Holland in the Netherlands to Petrus Van de Ven and Maria Van de (Langenberg) and passed away on January 10, 2025 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 87.
She is survived by:

Cynthia Amirvand of Irvine, California
Tina Atkinson of College Station, Texas
Eight grandchildren:
Soraya, Amir, Farah, Emon, Shania, Leif, Seanna, and Forrest
She was preceded in death by her parents, Petrus and Maria Van de Ven; and two brothers, Theo Van de Ven and Wilhm Van de Ven. Rita was a homemaker and loved Dr. Pepper. She had race horses for years. Rita also loved her dogs, cats, and horses. She will be deeply missed.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
