Obituary

Raymond Laphon Yandell of Summerfield, Oklahoma was born November 12, 1933 in Summerfield, Oklahoma to Joe and Mary Elizabeth (Butler) Yandell and passed away May 4, 2017 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 83.

He is survived by:

One son:
Charlie Siler and wife Tracy of Wister, Oklahoma

Two grandsons:
Charlie "C.J." Siler and family of the Hontubby Community
Larry Siler of Wister, Oklahoma

Four great-grandsons

One brother:
Bud Yandell of Poteau, Oklahoma

One sister:
Birdie Hudlow of Shady Point, Oklahoma

Host of nieces, nephews, and many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, Albert "Bill," and Chester Yandell; and two sisters, Lilly Yandell and Virgie Bloxham. Raymond was a life-long resident of Summerfield, a member of the Summerfield Church of Christ, and was a retired firefighter from the Oklahoma State Forestry Services. He loved his family and friends, horses, camp fires, old dogs, children, old country and gospel music, and jokes. Raymond was the Mayor of Holson Creek.

Viewing will be from 12 Noon until 8:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.

The family will hold a private memorial service at the residence of Kim Yandell on May 27, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.. The family will be scattering the cremains on Holson Creek. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
