Raymond Othel Sutmiller, 89, of Fort Smith, Arkansas (formerly of Poteau, Oklahoma) was born March 24, 1935 in Wilburton, Oklahoma to Samuel Darrell and Rena (Mosteller) Sutmiller. He went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2024 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Rena Sutmiller.
Raymond was a graduate of Panola High School, a graduate of Eastern State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma where he received his Associates degree, and then attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. He was a stone mason for many years. Raymond loved gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the East Side Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Raymond will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 5, 2024 at the East Side Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas with Reverend Sam Dyer, Reverend Bob Fowler, Reverend Chad Mann, and Reverend John Earnhart officiating. Interment will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Nick Ford, Randy Friend, Chuck Peacock, Ron Featherston, Ceborn Miller, and Bill Pitchford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Harold Sanders, Buford Latta, Bob Hilt, Brad Harris, Danny Yandell, and Dan Haggard.
Viewing will be from Noon until 6 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
