It is with great sadness that the family of Peggy Joyce May announce her passing on December 4, 2022.
Peggy was born February 21, 1947 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Loten and Sarah Lee Kiefer.
Peggy was a major staple of the local Headstart program for many years. She later turned her focus to counseling which she enjoyed and touched the lives of many.
To say that she loved her fur babies is an understatement. She was never far without her furry friends. She enjoyed shopping, good cuisine, fashion, visiting, and spending time with her family and friends. Her more recent adventures including hiking and camping, however she was always happy to return to her friend "good ole air conditioning." She had a great smile and an infectious laugh. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Montie Kiefer; sister, Jeannie Simmons; brother-in-law, Don Simmons; and nieces, Mandy Gale Kiefer, Mandy and Robyn Simmons, and Darla Trammell.
She is survived by her companion, Angel Almanza of Waldron, Arkansas; Sister, Janis Trammell and husband Joe of Wister, Oklahoma; Stepdaughter, Pepper Waltham of Chino Valley, Arizona, sister-in-law, Connie Kiefer of Amarillo, Texas; three nieces, and a nephew.
Please join the family for a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Heavener Memorial Park. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
