Pat was born in Turlock, California and moved to Happy, Texas in 1969. He graduated from Tulia High School in 1972. He married Donna Funderburk on December 1, 1972 and together they had four children. They moved to Elk City, Oklahoma in 1975, where he began working in the oilfield. After divorcing in 1982, Pat started working in construction. He married Viola "Orbra" Murphy on June 10, 1985 and instantly became a loving dad to four more children. He started his new occupation as a mechanic in 1988 at Bob Maine Ford, which later became Barber Dyson Ford, in Elk City, Oklahoma. He worked for Galmors from 1999 until retiring in 2016. At that time, he fulfilled his dream of moving to "The Cabin" he inherited from his parents in Heavener, Oklahoma.
