Obituary

Midge Harris of Heavener, Oklahoma was born January 1, 1940 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Bea and Susie (Cox) Harris and passed away May 8, 2023 surrounded by family in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 83.

Lisa Cox of Heavener, Oklahoma
Tresa Scott and husband Scotty of Bixby, Oklahoma

One sister:
Della Kissler and Paul Shipman of Eufaula, Oklahoma

One brother:
Bob Harris and wife Charlene of Heavener, Oklahoma

Six grandchildren:
Lacey McClain, Richard "Bubba" Smith, Scotty Scott, Jr., Meagan Parker, Savana Duschel, and Emily McKinney

12 great-grandchildren

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other loved ones, and a host of friends that loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bea and Susie Harris; two sisters, Catherine Kelley and Carolyn Dawson; and one brother, Bud Harris.

Midge was a longtime resident of the area, a member of Heavener First Baptist Church, and the owner of Harris Garage. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking care of honey-dos, and traveling. Midge especially loved spending time with his family; the more grandchildren around, the better. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Midge was a veteran in the United States Navy. He will be missed by all friends and family.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Heavener First Baptist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Johnny Harris and Pastor Brock Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Scotty Scott, Jr., Richard "Bubba" Smith, Scotty Scott, Sr., Wes McClain, Doug Harris, and Danny Bob Harris.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jack Harris, Pat Edwards, Buck Cauthron, and Ron Glenn.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Friday.
The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
