Leah Fern (Crutchfield) Campbell of Heavener, Oklahoma was born the first of six children on October 21, 1919 in Winfield, Arkansas to Lala Auga (Plummer) and James Albert Crutchfield. She passed from this life on June 23, 2017 in Ozark, Missouri at the age of 97.

She is survived by:

Ron Campbell and wife Phyllis of Nixa, Missouri

One daughter:
Velvalee of Wister, Oklahoma

One sister:
Alberta Ward of Shawnee, Oklahoma

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G.G. "Buddy" Campbell of Heavener, Oklahoma; her daughter and son-in-law, Gwyndol and David Hogan of Spiro, Oklahoma; two brothers, Carmel Crutchfield of Waldron, Arkansas and Lee Royce Crutchfield of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and two sisters, Ouida Blackwood and Doris Deatherage both of Hodgen, Oklahoma.

Leah Fern spent her life in devotion to Jesus Christ and was a true servant to her family and her friends. She cared for the sick and dying of her community, and she taught Sunday School at Heavener First Baptist Church. She was an active member of The Heavener Woman's Club and along with other members secured funding for The Heavener Public Library. After graduating from Waldron High School, Leah attended and graduated from Kansas City Beauty College. She operated a beauty shop from her home, and she worked in Dr. Joe Looper's office located in Heavener. She spent her later years traveling with The Good Sam's Club of Oklahoma. She was a master of all games, and she was an exquisite seamstress.

A family service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017 at Leah's home church of First Baptist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma with her nephew, Mr. Larry Devorak officiating and her nieces and nephews leading in prayer and song. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
