John Michael Mengell of Wister, Oklahoma was born September 24, 1976 in California to Peter Mengell and Marilyn Braziel and passed away January 18, 2020 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 43.
He is survived by:

Austin Yarbrough of Poteau, Oklahoma
Jeremy Mengell of Wister, Oklahoma
One brother:
Brian Lindholm and wife Tarrah of Poteau, Oklahoma
Two granddaughters:
Kianna Caije Marie Mengell and Emma Claire Ramsey
One niece:
Avery Chitwood of Poteau, Oklahoma
Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandmother, Betty Stafford; and his grandfather, Marvin Braziel.
John was a life-long resident of Wister and a 1995 graduate of Wister High School. He loved his kids and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. John also loved baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox, riding motorcycles, hunting, and watching Pawn Stars.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
