John Allen Evans of the Hontubby Community was born March 17, 1954 in Bakersfield, California to Brandon and Della (Davis) Evans and passed away February 8, 2019 in the Dog Creek Community at the age of 64.
He is survived by:

Jim Evans and wife Audra of Somerset, Kentucky

Brooke Burgess and husband Jonathon of Cameron, Oklahoma
Ashton Evans of Stillwater, Oklahoma
Numerous other loved ones and host of friends
He was preceded in death by his parents. John was a long-time resident of the area, a Truck Driver, and a member of the Hontubby Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School class. He also served on the Disaster Team and was a member of the Heavener Masonic Lodge #154. John was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country in the Vietnam Era. While serving in the United States Army, he worked as a Detective for the military police working with drug dogs. John loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. John will be greatly missed by many.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Hontubby Baptist Church with Brother David Hardin and Brother Joey Bottoms officiating. Burial will follow in the U. S. National Cemetery in Ft. Smith, Arkansas with military honors by the U. S. Honor Guard. The arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Jack Scott, Ray Freeman, Gary Alexander, Charles Liles, Denny Kelly, and Kelly Burns
Honorary Pallbearers will be: David Janway
Viewing will begin at 2 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Monday; 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
