John "Todd" Baker, 52, of Euless Texas, (formerly of Heavener, Oklahoma) passed away unexpectedly on May 21st, 2017.

He was born in San Diego, California on August 28, 1964 to Johnny and Jana Moore Baker. He was preceded in death by his father Johnny Baker. He is survived by his mother Jana Baker of Heavener, Oklahoma, and his two children, Chelsea Michelle and Dakota Jack of Euless, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Jonna and brother-in-law Peter Decker of Los Angeles, California, their two children, Morgan and Jonathan Decker, as well as devoted aunts and uncles, favorite cousins, countless nieces, nephews, and close family friends that he loved dearly as they dearly loved him.

On September 26, 1995 and May 26, 1999 Todd welcomed two beautiful children, who were the most important part of his life. Chelsea Michelle and Dakota Jack dearly loved Todd from the moment they were born, but their devotion and love was more than eclipsed by Todds unending passion for his babies. There was no limit to Todds capacity to guide, believe in, fight for, and love his children.

He was the only son of Johnny and Jana Baker and graduated from Heavener High School in 1982. He graduated from Carl Albert State College and attended Northeastern State University. He was intensely competitive as an extraordinary athlete, avid water skier, hunter, fisherman, and fearless adventurer. But the sport that captured the passion of his heart was baseball.

Surpassing his love for adventure and a good time was his love for family. He not only admired, but worshipped the ground his father walked on. He honored his mother emphatically and drew on her deep reservoir of faith as a guiding light. One of his strongest bonds was with his sister Jonna. From the time they were children until his last day, Todd and "Sis" experienced a closeness and devotion that transcended the time and space between them.

Todd was known for his loving, compassionate hugs, huge smile, and thunderous laugh. He made friends quickly and kept them for life. He was forgiving and never held a grudge or ill-will toward anyone. His strong principles, Christian beliefs and unshakable faith in God were his anchor in the storms of life and his example to everyone who knew him.

He lived life openly, fully, joyfully, and was the light of the room.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Heavener First Baptist Church with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Cody Huie, Jamie Gilliam, Steve Newcomer, Andy Perdue, Eddie Freeman, and Neil Patel

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Winters, Brad Naylor, Jimmy Wigginton, John Bottoms, Austin Archey, and Robert Hudgens

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
