Jimmy Wesley Collins of Rock Island, Oklahoma was born on May 9, 1952 in Poteau, Oklahoma to John and Eliza (Osburn) Collins and passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 in Rock Island, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
He is survived by:

Norma Wesley and fiance Brad Mattioda of Hartshorne, Oklahoma

Janice Parrish and husband Steve of Clarendon, Arkansas
Joyce Britton and husband Chuck of Southwest City, Missouri
Katie Prodonavich of Reno, Nevada
Hassie Donahue of Clarendon, Arkansas
Lisa Connor and husband David of Clarendon, Arkansas
Three brothers:
Jess Collins of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Jamey Bowen of Clarendon, Arkansas
Scott Bowen of Clarendon, Arkansas
Seven grandchildren
Three great-grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joetta Collins; three sons, Jimmy Wesley Collins, Jr., David Paul Kelly, and Jimmy Junior Collins; and one brother, Billy Bowen. Jim was a long-time resident of the area and worked in the Maintenance Department at the Wortz Cracker Company. He loved visiting with friends and family. Jim and Joetta loved fishing together. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam era where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2018 at the Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Klayton Qualls, Jim Couch, Ronny Couch, Joe Couch, Rick Lance, and Chuck Britton
Honorary pallbearers will be: Bentley Collins and Jim Vickers
Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
