Jimmy Ray Elder of the Glendale Community was born September 25, 1967 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Harry Eugene and Thirl Evon (Lee) Elder and passed away on October 3, 2024 at his home at the age of 57.

Paul Elder and wife Tanya of Howe, Oklahoma
Dave Elder and wife Jodi of Howe, Oklahoma
Numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other loved ones, and a host friends
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Ray Elder; one brother, Joe Elder; and one brother-in-law, Zane DeLaughter.
Jimmy was a long-time resident of the area and was a Maintenance Supervisor for Oklahoma State Department of Tourism and Recreation at Robbers Cave for 30 years. He loved get togethers, making sorghum, pilfering on his farm, and restoring farm implements. Jimmy also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all whom loved and knew him.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Mr. Denton Mead officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in the Glendale Community under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Brett Labor, Dustin Vaughn, Vic Davison, Cliff Morgan, Bobby Braly, and Aron Maib
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Von Mead and Bill Cecil
Viewing will be from Noon to 6:00 p.m., Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, with the family visiting with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
