James Richard "Dick" Roberts of Heavener, Oklahoma was born October 24, 1935 in the Forest Hill Community in Howe, Oklahoma to Jesse and Atha (Autrey) Roberts and passed away on July 28, 2024 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 88.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends whom loved him very much
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Atha Roberts; and a brother, Tommie Dale Roberts.
Dick was a long-time resident of the area. He attended Heavener High School and Carl Albert Junior College. Dick was a Foreman on Maintenance of Way for the Kansas City Southern Railroad. He was a veteran, where he served in the United States Army during Peacetime. Dick loved gardening and was a proud supporter of Heavener Athletics. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Dick will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 5, 2024 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Mr. Cody Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: His Grandsons
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; Noon until 6:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday; 9:00 a.m. until service time, Monday at the funeral home.
The family will visit with friends on Monday, August 5th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
