Obituary

Jack Thurman of Howe, Oklahoma was born July 29, 1941 at Holson Creek, Hodgen, Oklahoma to Fred and Bessie (Poor) Thurman and passed away February 23, 2017 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 75.


He is survived by:


Two daughters:
Jacqueline Smith and husband Calvin of Haw Creek Community
Kristina Adams and husband Brian of Howe, Oklahoma


A special companion of eight years:
Diann Massey
Two special daughters:
Kim Moore and husband Harold of Heavener, Oklahoma
Christy Bowles and husband Jason of Howe, Oklahoma


Six sisters:
Frances Kimes and husband Wayne of Cedarville, Arkansas
Nina "Tudor" Blankinchip and husband Steve of Natural Dam, Arkansas
Irene Davison and husband Mike of Poteau, Oklahoma
Patsy Webster and husband Richard of Monroe, Oklahoma
Wanda Lawrence and husband Rob of Poteau, Oklahoma
Paula Barnhart and husband Kenny of Howe, Oklahoma


One brother:
Joe Thurman and wife Deloyce of Heavener, Oklahoma


Twelve grandchildren:
Kasandra Thurman, Jody Hill, Augustus Hill, Austen Adams, Christopher Adams, Harold Smith, Darrell Smith, Robert Smith, Heather Frederick, Jason Bowles, Waylon Turner, Matthew Bowles


Seven great grandchildren:
Balie Moore, Jasmin Autrey, Jayleigh Smith, Trysten Smith, Gracie Lewis, Avery Lewis, Remington Frederick


Several other family members and a host of friends


He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Brenda. Jack was a lifelong member of the Howe community and a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Heavener, Oklahoma. He was a farmer and a poultry grower for OK Foods. He was a loving father, brother, and friend.


Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, Heavener, Oklahoma with Reverend Ray Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park, Heavener, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.


Pallbearers will be nephews: Rusty Duncan, Mark McMillan, Darryl Kardokus, Craig Kardokus, Jason Webster, Nathan Adams, Michael Thurman, and Bill and Ross Barnhart.


Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jody Hill, Augustus Hill, Austen Adams, Christopher Adams, Harold Smith, Darrel Smith, Robert Smith, Waylon Turner, Jason Bowles, and Matthew Bowles.


Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
