Obituary

Opal Imogene Crabtree, 90, Seminole resident (formerly of Howe, Oklahoma) passed from this life on Friday, November 17, 2023 in Seminole, Oklahoma. Opal was born on October 19, 1933 in Howe, Oklahoma to her parents, William Angus Thrift and Ada (Ary) Thrift.
Opal spent the majority of her life in the Howe, Oklahoma area and after moving to the Seminole area she worked for 16 years at the Wrangler Plant in Seminole, Oklahoma. Opal loved reading and studying her bible and was a strong prayer warrior.
Opal married James Crabtree on September 27, 1951 in Greenwood, Arkansas.
Opal is survived by:
Her sons:
David Crabtree of Seminole, Oklahoma
Kenny Crabtree and wife Debbie Crabtree of Howe, Oklahoma
Her daughter:
Carol Houck and husband Dwayne Houck of Seminole, Oklahoma
Five grandsons and one granddaughter
Eleven great-grandchildren
Her sister:
Gertrude Shankle of Cedarville, Arkansas
A special friend:
Kim Middleton
Numerous other family members and a host of friends
Opal is preceded in death by her husband, James Crabtree and her son, Dale Crabtree.
Graveside services are Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Howe Cemetery in Howe, Oklahoma with Brother Andre Ming and Brother Larry Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in the Howe Cemetery arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will have visitation with friends from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
