Ida Christine Linville of Heavener, Oklahoma was born December 25, 1928 in Talihina, Oklahoma to L. B. Neighbors and Melinda (Daney) Neighbors. Ida went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2016 at the age of 87.

She is survived by her children:

One daughter:
Rita Lamphear and husband Bill, of Gentry Arkansas

One son:
Jackie Linville and wife Kathleen of Heavener, Oklahoma

Three sisters:
Franciel Mendenhall, of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Alma Williams, of Poteau, Oklahoma
Peggy Shafer, of Tulsa, Oklahoma

Two half-sisters:
Rene Abernathy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma
Grace Grando, of Tulsa, Oklahoma

One brother:
Roy Neighbors, of Bossier City, Louisiana

Five grandchildren:
Daniel Lamphear and wife Melody, of San Bruno, California
Brenda Lamphear, of Denver, Colorado
Cody Linville and wife Rachael, of Poteau, Oklahoma
Christina Vaughn and husband Buddy, of Heavener, Oklahoma
Casey Linville, of Heavener, Oklahoma

Two great-grandchildren:
Gage Turner of Denver, Colorado
Zoe Turner of Denver, Colorado

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Burl Neighbors, Ted Neighbors, Howard Neighbors, Nathaniel Neighbors and Kelly Joe Neighbors.

Ida was a member of Heavener First Baptist Church where she served faithfully and ran the triple L (Live- Life- Longer) Program. Ida was member of the Talihina Eastern Star and had an active role in the LeFlore County English as a Second language Program. She taught fifth grade for thirty years at Heavener Public School where she was awarded Teacher of the Year in 1984. Ida was a wonderful role model and was dearly loved by her students. She was a member of the teachers organizations: Oklahoma Retired Teachers Association, Oklahoma Education Association and the National Teachers Association. Ida was a long time resident of Heavener, Oklahoma and was Woman of the Year in 2007.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

The family will be visiting with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
