George Elzie Branscum, Sr. of Heavener, Oklahoma was born July 8, 1932 in Texas to Roy Branscum and passed away on April 19, 2025 at his home in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 92.

He is survived by:

Alline McGee of Heavener, Oklahoma

Patricia Westbrook of Gulfport, Mississippi

Bonnie Christopher of Bakersfield, California

Two sons:

George Branscum, Jr. of Heavener, Oklahoma

Glen Bishop of Fort Sumner, New Mexico

Numerous other loved ones and a host of friends

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Branscum; one sister, Margaret Louise Gregory; and one brother, Max Branscum.

George, Sr. was a longtime resident of the area and a mechanic. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. George, Sr. really enjoyed being in the outdoors and drinking Busch beer.

A memorial service to honor George's life will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma with Brother Ed Drury officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Heavener Memorial Park at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
