Freddie Allen Bennett of Heavener, Oklahoma was born March 9, 1947 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Haskell Allen and Mary Lou (Wiggington) Brown and passed away October 26, 2020 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 73.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Haskell Allen Bennett and Mary Lou Brown; his second wife, Shirley Dunigan; his paternal grandparents, Haskell and Georgia Bennett; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Wiggington, his step-father, Tater Ray Brown; his uncle, John Thomas "Tommy" Bennett; three aunts, Norma Mattox, Doris Cowan, and Issabelle Phillips and husband Sim; and a cousin, Jimmy Dawn Cowan.
Fred was a long-time resident of the area, a retired Truck Driver, and a veteran of the United States Navy, where he served his country in the Vietnam Era. He was also a member of the Heavener VFW Post #8403, the American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America, and Heavener First Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Fred will be greatly missed by many.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brock Hardin officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
