Obituary

Evert Ezra Stacy of Poteau, Oklahoma (formerly of Howe, Oklahoma) was born on January 16, 1948 to Ezra and Irene Stacy in Howe, Oklahoma and passed away surrounded by his family on June 24, 2023 in Fort Smith, Arkansas at the age of 75.

Evert was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Irene Stacy; and one sister, Christine Dastgerdizad.
Evert was a member of Impact Church in Alma, Arkansas. He was a longtime rancher and oilfield worker. Evert loved his wife, all his kids, kids spouses, and always made time for everyone. He put everyone else first. Evert also loved cattle, fast horses, and working in the pasture. He had a strong handshake and always worked extremely hard. You would hear him say "gotta stay hooked and make a hand". You never had to wonder what he thought, but he was always kind and respectful. Evert liked watching the grandkids do anything and he was always there. He also loved playing in the floor with Reeve. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country during the Vietnam Era. Evert was a loving husband, father, PawPaw, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew him. He is no longer in pain instead he is now driving cattle on Old Bill with Poppy and going to the house to see MawMaw and Chrissy.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Howe Assembly of God in Howe, Oklahoma with Pastor Torin Johnson, Pastor Bryan Fouts, and Reverend Clint Beesley officiating. Burial will follow in Howe Cemetery in Howe, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be from Noon until 8:00 p.m., Monday; 9:00 a.m. until Noon, Tuesday.
The family will visit with friends on Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
