Obituary

Donald Duncan of Heavener, Oklahoma was born June, 24, 1931 in Heavener, Oklahoma to Albert Lemuel Duncan and Magnolia Paralee (Rhodes) Duncan and passed away in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 12, 2016 at the age of 85.
He is survived by:
His wife of 64 years, Shirley Duncan
Four sons:
Preston Duncan of Poteau, Oklahoma
Kenneth Duncan and wife Diane of Heavener, Oklahoma
Farrell Duncan and wife Linda of Heavener, Oklahoma
Hugh Duncan and wife Skyla of Heavener, Oklahoma
One sister:
Nola May Graham of Fresno, California
Seven grandchildren:
Diana Hamner, Hannah Anderson, Zachary Duncan, Teresa Duncan, Montana Duncan, Jacob Duncan, Christopher Duncan, and Kayla Phipps
10 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Bertha Boyear, Dorothy Harrison, and Artie Boyd; and his brothers, Earl Duncan, Austin Duncan, Dempsey Duncan and Archie Duncan. Donald was a long-time resident of Heavener, was of the Baptist faith, and a member of First Baptist Church in Heavener. He was a Brakeman and Conductor for the Kansas City Southern Railroad and a member of the United Trainsmen Union. Donald was great daddy and a wonderful example of how a father should be. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed hunting coon as well as squirrel.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Heavener First Baptist Church with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday at the funeral home.
