David Cecil Head

David Cecil Head, 67, of Heavener, Oklahoma, passed away on September 22, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 20, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late Billy and Helen (Philpot) Head.

David retired from his position at the Sears Warehouse in Dallas, Texas. Known for his playful spirit, he loved to tease his nieces and nephews, always bringing laughter to family gatherings. A passionate dominoes player, his skills at the game made him a formidable opponent.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years, Pamela Head of the home; a brother, Steve Head of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Kathy Horner of Mena, Arkansas; his father-in-law, Harold Burns of Heavener, Oklahoma; his brother-in-law, Kelly Burns (Crystal) of Heavener, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law, Teresa King (Billy) of Heavener, Oklahoma; along with a cherished group of nieces and nephews: Chandra, Jessica, Jeremy (Tamma), Ashlie (Shannon), Jamie (Daren), Matthew (Lakelyn), Shauna, Haylie (Rob), Ace (Chani), and Trinity. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Helen Head; his mother-in-law, Gayle Burns; and his grandparents, Arthur and Annalee Head, Jess and Margaret Philpot.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2026, at the Trinity Baptist Church in Heavener, Oklahoma with Pastor Dalton Luman officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.
