Danny Joe Blair of Heavener, Oklahoma was born March 18, 1948 in Cottonwood, Arizona to Elvin and Bonnie (Winters) Blair and passed away February 16, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 72.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Bonnie Blair; a special aunt (2nd mom), Doris Denton; special cousin "like a brother", Stanley Tolbert; and a cousin, Makayla Manley.
Danny was a long-time resident of the area, a life-time member of Heavener First Baptist Church, and a member of the Heavener Masonic Lodge #154 for 47 years serving, in various capacities. Danny was initiated as an Entered Apprentice on October 2, 1973 and passed to the degree of Fellow Craft on November 13, 1973. He was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 12, 1974. He served as Junior Deacon in 1975; Senior Deacon in 1976; Junior Warden in 1977 and 2014; and Senior Warden in 1978 and 2015. Danny served as Secretary in 2002 to 2005 and then from 2008 to 2010. He served as Treasurer in 2006, 2007, 2017 and served as Chaplain in 2013. He also served as Worshipful Master in 1979, 2001, 2016 and as Grand Lodge District Deputy Grand Master from 2009-2012. Danny also served on Grand Lodge Committee for Public Schools in 2012-2013.
He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and Eastern Star of Spiro. He was a 1966 graduate of Heavener High School and a graduate of Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. Danny was a member of the Heavener Blues Baseball Team in 1970s and a member of the American Legion Baseball. He was known in baseball as the "hind catcher without a chest protector". He was a member of the Heavener Volunteer Fire Department from 1973-1978. Danny worked as a Salesman for Bill Hembree Chevrolet from 1966-1978. In 1978, he began working as an Engineer for Kansas City Southern Railroad until he retired in 1998. Danny loved being outdoors enjoying things such as hunting, fishing, watching or playing any and all sports, with the latest being golf. He loved collecting guns, knives, railroad, and golf memorabilia. Danny was a devoted husband, Dad, and Pop. He loved spending time with his family and has taught all of his grandkids the meaning of the game of dominos! He also loved animals and raised many dogs and cats, with the latest being several schnauzers. Danny will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private memorial service with Masonic Rites will be 2 p.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Marcus Blair officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in memory of Danny to the Heavener Masonic Lodge #154, P.O. Box 154 Heavener, OK 74937.
