Charles Richie of Heavener, Oklahoma was born July 7, 1937 in Lake City, Arkansas to James Phillip and Carrie Louise (Slaughter) Richie and passed away August 11, 2017 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

Two step-sons:
Brent Bingley and wife Tanja of Pocola, Oklahoma
Jeff Bingley of Sayre, Oklahoma

Three brothers:
James "Dude" Richie and wife Patsy of Muldrow, Oklahoma
Jerry Richie and wife Lynda of Tehachapi, California
Danny Richie and wife Debbie of Bakersfield, California

One sister:
Reba Tidwell and husband Hayden of Bakersfield, California

Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of many friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Phillip and Carrie Louise Richie; three brothers, Norman Edward, Henry Scottie, and Carroll Phillip Richie and one sister, Goldie Marie Richie. Charlie was a retired Delivery man for the Coca-Cola Company in Fort Smith, Arkansas and was the owner of Charlies Bar in Poteau, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. Charlie raised and trained running Quarter Horses. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Montgomery and Reverend Devin Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Creek Cemetery in Red Oak, Oklahoma under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be: Cliff Ryburn, Brandon Richie, Shane Richie, Daniel Richie, Tim Gibson, and Brent Bingley

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Danny Burns, Cliff Neyland, Jerry Gollahare, Billy Jackson, Bobby Joe Williams, Jordan Westbrook, and Augustus Frady

Viewing will be from noon until 8:30 p.m., Tuesday; 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. until noon, Thursday.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
