Cathren JoAnn Cogburn of Heavener, Oklahoma was born May 9, 1939 in the Reichert Community to Clifford and Reba (Mairel) Shupert and passed away on March 4, 2019 in Spiro, Oklahoma surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 79.
She is survived by:

Pamela Cogburn and husband Gary Gillham of Bokoshe, Oklahoma
Vicki Miller and husband Frank of Pima, Arizona
One son:
Patrick Cogburn and wife Carla of Heavener, Oklahoma
Two sisters:
Willo Dean Durrett of Checotah, Oklahoma
Eureda Bly of Cameron, Oklahoma
Three brothers:
Charles Shupert of the Reichert Community
William "Bub" Shupert of Sallisaw, Oklahoma
Rocky Shupert of Fort Smith, Arkansas
Four grandchildren:
Dustin Cogburn and wife Jennifer
Amber Miller
Cortney Smith and husband Richard
Katie Jay Miller
Five great-grandchildren:
Zoie Cogburn, Sean Cogburn, Dane Cogburn, Emery Barney, and Autumn Barney
Numerous other relatives and host of friends
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Reba Shupert; her husband, Palmer Cogburn; two sisters, Sue Brown and Linda Shupert; and one grandson, Michael Miller. Cathren was a life-long resident of the area, a 1958 graduate of Heavener High School, and a member of the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, poultry farmer, and also worked as a store clerk. Cathren loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by many whom loved and knew her. Cathren was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with Brother Sam Dyer officiating. Burial will follow in Reichert Cemetery arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: Her family
Viewing will begin at noon until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday; 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday; 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
