Carol Jean Putman of Heavener, Oklahoma was born on September 3, 1948 in Bowie, Texas to Walter Lee Morris and Ezellian Sally Ann (May) Pitt and passed away on May 3, 2026 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Zell Pitt; her father, Walter Morris; her step-father, H.B. Pitt; Her ex-husband, Freddy Wayne; one brother, Royce Bill Morris; and two cousins, Kathy Hand and Paula McFarland.

Carol was a longtime resident of the area and was a dedicated tax consultant. Outside of her work, Carol had a passion for raising goats, which brought her joy and connection to nature. She also enjoyed thrift shopping and pampering herself with regular visits to the nail salon. Carol found immense happiness in watching her great-grandchildren engage in various activities, and she cherished the time spent with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear. Her kindness, generosity, and love for those around her made a lasting impact on all who knew her. Carol will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will carry her memory in their hearts.

A graveside service to honor Carol's life will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9, 2026 at New Home Cemetery in the Big Cedar Community with Pastor Cody Nix officiating. Burial will follow under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Thursday; 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday; and 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday.

The family will visit with friends on Friday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be: Cody Putman, Nathan Janway, Cyle Cullers, Cody Putman, Jr., Hunter Gandy, and Stephen Melton.
