Brenda Sue Jackson of Heavener, Oklahoma was born November 6, 1952 in Bakersfield, California to James Henry and Alma Mae (Riggs) Barnes and passed away November 17, 2023 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 71.
She is survived by:
Three daughters:
Susan Armor and husband Nick of Kansas City, Missouri
Marla Clark of Albuquerque, New Mexico
Crystal Patro and husband Tony of Heavener, Oklahoma
Five grandchildren:
Rachel, Chelsea, Josh, Ricky, and Star
Seven great-grandchildren
Her 128 Friends
Numerous other loved relatives and many friends
She was preceded in death by her parents James and Alma Mae Barnes.
Brenda was a lifelong resident of the area and a Master Gardner. She was a graduate of Poteau High School, where she was a star basketball player. Brenda had a degree in Master Gardening. She also worked as a bartender at the Southern Grill in Poteau for 30 years and was a member of the 128 Family. Brenda was of the Catholic faith. Her motto was "Be Good or Be Gone". She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Brenda had a smile that could light up the room. She will be deeply missed.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
