Brenda Farmer

Brenda Kay Farmer of the Stapp-Zoe Community in Hodgen, Oklahoma was born on March 21, 1953 in Stapp, Oklahoma and passed away on September 21, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and a family who will forever cherish her.

Brenda was a 1971 graduate of Heavener High school and a homemaker. She married the love of her life, David L. Farmer on August 6, 1982. Together they shared 44 years of marriage and established their home in Stapp, Oklahoma. Their home became a place filled with love, family, good food, and countless memories.

Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly, and her grandchildren held an especially precious place in her heart. Kaylee, Tanner, and Bailey Farrar were among the greatest joys of her life. She treasured the time she spent with them and took great pride in watching them grow.

Brenda was a member of Page Baptist Church. She worked for Queen Wilhelmina State Park for 13 years and later devoted many years to being a homemaker. She took great pride in her home and loved making it a warm and welcoming place for her family.

Those who know Brenda will remember her many things, especially her cooking and her amazing desserts. She had a special way of showing love through the meals she prepared and the time she spent caring for the people around her.

In her later years, some of Brenda’s favorite moments were the simple ones. She loved sitting on the front porch with David, drinking coffee and watching the traffic go by. Those quiet moments together were a beautiful reflection of the life they shared—simple, familiar, and full of love.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband, David L. Farmer; her son, Ricky Farmer and wife Mary; her cherished grandchildren Kaylee, Tanner, and Bailey Farmer; and her three brothers R.L. Permenter and his wife Pat of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Mike Permenter of Poteau, Oklahoma; and Phillip Permenter of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, along with many other family members and friends.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elsie Permenter; and her siblings Charles Permenter, Monroe Permenter, Nina Hoffman, and Ronnie Permenter.

Brenda’s greatest treasures were her family, her home, and the everyday moments shared with the people she loved. Her kindness, her cooking, her laughter, and the love she poured into her family will be remembered for generations to come.

Though she is no longer sitting beside David on their front porch, the memories of those quiet mornings, cups of coffee, and moments together will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Brenda will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

A graveside service to honor Brenda’s life will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the Stapp-Zoe Cemetery in the Stapp-Zoe Community with Mr. Benny Marrow officiating. Burial will follow under the direction and care of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be Noon until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday with family visiting with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
