Billy Joe Benson of Heavener, Oklahoma was born May 22, 1977 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Keith and Kathy (Benson) Edwards and passed away June 7, 2023 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 46.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Edwards; his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Dorothy Benson; two aunts, Lisa Benson and Linda Benson; and one uncle, Carl Edwards. Billy Joe was a life-long resident of Heavener, a 1995 graduate of Heavener High School, and was a truck driver. He loved being around his family and friends and making everyone laugh.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kane Riggs officiating. Burial will be in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.
Viewing will be from Noon until 6:00 p.m., Saturday and 9:00 a.m. until service time, Sunday. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
