Archie Henry "Shorty" Chaney, 91 of Heavener, passed away October 26, 2021, with his wife Rose, of 72 years and daughters Judy Stinnett and Paula Wright by his side. Shorty was born in Filmore, Oklahoma on March 29, 1930 to Archie and Ola Chaney.

Dusty Chaney and wife Gloria, Bill Chaney and wife Laura, Steve Chaney and wife Annie, Sarah Vance and husband Joel, Chris Stinnett and wife Crissa, Patrick Wright, Ashley Johnson and husband Chase, and Phillip Wright
Twelve great-grandchildren:
Hunter and Gillian Stinnett, Grace and Allie Rose Vance, Leo Wright and Avery Johnson, Sterling and Skylar Chaney, Grant and Westin Chaney, and Zane and Zella Chaney
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends
The eldest of four, Shorty was preceded in death by brothers, Lenard Francis and Maxie Wayne Chaney and his parents. Shorty enjoyed a long and successful life. He owned and operated several trucking and construction businesses and was a mentor to many. Shorty enjoyed being part of the Sheriffs Posse in Texas and riding and showing Missouri Fox Trotting Horses.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Stacy officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery, near Hartford, Arkansas under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be: John Stinnett, Rick Wright, Chris Stinnett, Hunter Stinnett, Patrick Wright, and Leo Wright
Viewing will be from Noon until 6:00 p.m., Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
